Academic Partners
What is the Swiss Moot Court? The Swiss Moot Court is a pleading competition open to all students enrolled at a Swiss law faculty (and who have not yet completed their Master’s degree. It offers them the opportunity to put the knowledge they have acquired so far into practice. In a first round, the teams, consisting of two to four people, write an appeal and a response to a given case. The twelve best teams qualify for the oral round at the Federal Supreme Court in Lucerne.
There they will make their pleadings before a jury of federal judges, lawyers and law professors. Not only the validity of the arguments presented, but also the persuasiveness and rhetoric of the speakers will be evaluated. The two best teams will then compete in the final.
